The excitement that comes with engagement is incredible! However, the engagement party is followed by an avalanche of activities that can be overwhelming. You’ll be required to arrange a bridal shower, a bachelorette party, and a rehearsal dinner.

That sounds pretty simple, right? Well, it may sound easy but poor planning can easily turn it into a logistical nightmare.

One of the parties that require immense planning is the bridal shower. This article enumerates various tips that you can apply to get your dream party.

Questions to Answer When Planning for Bridal Shower

If you’re determined to have a successful party, then you should answer all these questions in time. This will improve your logistics and eliminate any awkward moments during the bridal shower party.

Who Will Host the Party

It’s clear in your mind that you want a bridal shower party but you have no idea who will host it. Well, do not panic!

Some of the right candidates to host the party include the bride/groom’s mother, a relative, a close friend, or the bridesmaids. Just make the suggestion to them and you’ll certainly get a volunteer host.

Immediately after getting the host, you should understand the much they are willing to spend on the party. Ordinarily, the host will foot all the bills but it wouldn’t harm to help in cases of financial difficulties.

Who Do We Invite?

While bridal showers are dominated by women, it’s a great idea to invite a few male friends. You should consult your partner while preparing the guest list.

Remember to only invite people who will also be in the wedding’s guest list. Also, keep the number relatively small to make it fun and cut on costs.

When Do We Have It?

Setting your day several weeks in advance will give your guests enough time to prepare. While the ideal time for the party is mid-afternoon, you should consult your guests widely to ensure that they are all comfortable with the time.

What Time Should You Allocate the Bridal Shower?

Your bridal shower should be short to avoid boredom among your guests. The ideal duration is 2-3 hours.

However, the duration is highly dynamic. If your guests are flexible, you can allow them as much time as they need to mingle, eat, and open gifts.

Should You Open All the Gifts There?

Whether to open the gifts during the party or not is a personal decision. However, you should consult the host to get their opinion on the matter. Some may have strict timelines and it would inconvenience them greatly if you take too much time at their place.

If you choose to unwrap the gifts at the venue, you should delegate the duties to accelerate the process. For example, one person can unwrap while another writes down the names of the friends who donated the specific gifts.
